  • I don't accept insurance, but I work with Mentaya, a platform that helps clients get money back on out-of-network therapy sessions.

    Mentaya is perfect if you:

    • Have out of network benefits

    • Feel overwhelmed by superbills and insurance

    • Have submitted superbills but failed to get any reimbursement

    • Simply want to skip the hassle of paperwork!

    Here's how it works:

    1. Sign up for Mentaya: https://mentaya.com/inviteclient/paige-bond

    2. I will enter your sessions into the platform.

    3. Mentaya submits the claim and handles any insurance follow-up.

    4. You get reimbursed by insurance!

    • Mentaya charges a 5% fee per claim, which includes handling any paperwork required, dealing with denials, and calling insurance companies.

    • It's risk-free: They guarantee claims are successfully submitted, or a full refund of their fees.

Note: Mentaya's goal is to save you time and money. It's completely optional, and as your therapist I do not benefit in any way from your participation.

    • I have a flexible rescheduling and cancellation policy. If you need to cancel/reschedule, we’d reschedule you a make-up appointment either the week before, during, or after your actual appointment date or you’ll be charged the full session fee.

      • 3rd missed appointment: $75

      • 4th missed appointment: $150

      • 5th missed appointment: $250 (Full session rate) / consideration for transfer of care

    • The remaining balance is due on Day 1 of the Intensive/Retreat.

    • By booking the Intensive/Retreat, you have purchased this time and it is yours unless you cancel at least 2 weeks prior to Day 1.

    • If you cancel the Intensive/Retreat within 2 weeks of Day 1, you will be charged the total amount of the balance.

    • It varies! The duration of your therapy hinges on factors such as what you’d like to accomplish, personal background, the therapy method we decide to use, and your efforts outside of our sessions to reinforce progress.

    • Some folx accomplish their goals in as little as a few sessions, while others may continue therapy for longer periods of time such as 3-6 months or even 1-2 years.

    • Clients often progress more swiftly through their therapy by engaging in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) or Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) due to its structured nature.

    • One ART or KAP intensive/Retreat can be equivalent to several weeks of traditional therapy.

ADDITIONALLY: I offer every client a personalized workbook with exercises and video content as adjuncts to therapy to expedite progress. This is especially helpful to continue reflections in between sessions.

    • Helping you create securely functioning relationships whether you’e single, dating, partnered, or somewhere in between

    • Helping you navigate polyamory, open relationships, and other consensual non-monogamy dynamics

    • Premarital counseling/marriage prep for relationships to last happily ever after

    • Psychedelic integration with Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy if you’re looking for something ‘out of the box’ of traditional talk therapy

    • Accelerated Resolution Therapy to reduce intense emotional reactions to events from your past that are plaguing your life today.

OTHER FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT RELATIONSHIP THERAPY

  • Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers and health care facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in a plan or coverage or a Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage both orally and in writing of their ability, upon request or at the time of scheduling health care items and services, to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of expected charges. You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will costUnder the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises

  • You’ve got insurance, why choose not use it? I totally understand. But by being an Out of Network Provider, it gives us flexibility in your therapy and allows us to truly meet you where you are at.

Insurance companies require therapists to give you a diagnosis for billing purposes (and you may not even meet the criteria for one) which can become a permanent part of the health record, and often does not apply in cases of Couples Therapy.

Your insurance can put a restriction on number of sessions you have with a therapist. Since the insurance companies are paying for it, they also have the right to audit your file and determine if they will continue paying for sessions based on what they deem to be your progress.

I do not take commercial insurance as the way I practice would have to be compromised by conforming to their rules and reimbursement schemes, where they value quantity over quality and punish practices for allowing freedom of choice for health decisions by your family. Rather than compromise my ideals, I chose to not accept insurance.

Without insurance, all my time and energy goes directly into clinical work to help you feel better and reach your goals.

Without low reimbursement rates from insurance, I can keep our practice small, and devote more time and energy to YOU to help you thrive. Having a smaller practice also gives me the time and flexibility to seek advanced training and consultation frequently to make sure our skills stay on the cutting edge of the field.

    1. Does my plan cover out-of-network behavioral health services in an outpatient setting? Would it be covered if I had a referral from my primary care doctor?

    2. Do I have a deductible for that?

    3. How much is that deductible? How much of that have I met? And once I do, how much will my plan cover?

    4. Can I, the patient, submit claims electronically? If so, how? If not, what are my options for submitting?

    5. What are the reimbursement rates for CPT codes 90791 (Diagnostic Evaluation), 90837 (Individual Therapy), 90847 (Family Therapy) when these services are provided by a licensed master's level therapist such as an LMFT?

  • Keep in mind that you may also have a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) that can be used towards our appointments as well. HMO’s do not provide reimbursement for out of network, but PPO providers often cover 60-80% of the cost.

  • Current and returning clients will have access to secure messaging through their individual portals, which is the ethically preferred method of communication.

New clients can contact me at contact@paigebond.com

Email, Voicemail, and Text Messages aren’t secure forms of communication, leaving the potential for the contents to be viewed or heard by a third party.

I respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours during my typical business hours.
